Went to Descanso Gardens with a group of friends for some drawing, painting, photography and goofing around.
Here's a quick pen sketch I did while someone else pretending to draw trees was not.

Went to check out the Chinese New Year Parade in Chinatown here in Los Angeles. The company was great, but the parade was a bit underwhelming. I wish I'd some drawings of the tiny kids performing traditional dances before the parade. They were quite amazing and cute. Too bad they weren't in the parade.
Painted this based off a thumbnail pose I drew at dance performance a few months back. Been busy lately working on my short. The thumbnails shown were drawn in the dark. Hard to draw when you can't see the paper...gotta work on that. You can see where it becomes completely dark in the progression of poses.
Went to the Huntington Gardens, took lots of photoes and did some pen sketches.
Here are a bunch of watercolors from the last two weeks which I had not posted before. The first one is based off a photo online, of Basant in India. Under it is one I did in the hills in Burbank. Below that is a tiny one of Sehwan Sharif in Sindh. On the other side is one of my good friend, Khawar Kashani who took me around Kasur last summer (he's the guy on the right). Lastly, there is a simple watercolor sketch from a drawing session from last year.
Tired last night, did some quick pose scribbles (some of the top ones are from Phil Hale paintings to warm up, then the bottom poses and final pose are just from my head), then I did this watercolor.
As a special treat, today I present a guest artist. My very own little cousin Sarah "Ms. Choty" Raza, done in 2000 at the ripe old age of 4 1/2. I wrote in the names of the family members as she told them to me while she drew them in my sketchbook. Check out her perfect drawing of me. It's enough to make my pal Cholki (not to be confused with Ms. Choty) who has drawn many caricatures of me, cry.
